High Society Thailand Hosts MTG Night with Weed, Cards & Community

On Saturday, May 24th, High Society Thailand turned its Hua Lamphong dispensary into the ultimate crossover zone for Magic: The Gathering, cannabis, and community vibes. This unique night, co-hosted with Yannick The Gathering, brought together stoners, card slingers, and first-time players — all under one welcoming roof in Bangkok.

As a well-known MTG personality in ThongLo Bangkok, Yannick specializes in making the game accessible and fun — blending mentorship, coaching, and community events that are more about connection than competition. A Closed Event, For the Real Ones

It was a private, community-style gathering capped at just 16 players. To keep the tournament laid-back and beginner-friendly, there was a $100 max deck value rule. The goal is to keep the tournament casual, fun, and friendly — and create a space where new and experienced players could chill, talk, and learn from one another.

By limiting the crowd, High Society Thailand made it feel more like a Magic house party than a ranked event. Players had space to talk decks, share tips, and build connections — all while enjoying top-shelf cannabis sponsored by Lucky Lobster Farmz and good music at High Society Hua Lamphong.

Between matches, guests kicked back in one of the best places to chill in Bangkok, shooting billiards, sipping refreshments, and bonding over decks and strains.

For a few attendees, this was their first-ever MTG tournament, and the energy couldn’t have been more supportive.

Yannick and the veteran players shared strategies, explained card mechanics, and even lent out decks to help new players ease in. It was all about learning, laughing, and growing — no pressure, just play.
