Lobster Cup Vol. 2: A Bigger, Bolder Rematch on the Fairways
Lobster Cup Vol. 2 brought High Society Cannabis Club Thailand and The Bangkok Bogeys Golf Club together once again for another Ryder Cup–style showdown. The first face-off took place in May 2025 at Lakewood Links. This second volume picked up the rivalry with even more players, more action, and a full day of good competition at The Pomelo Golf Club.
A Full House at Pomelo
Seventy players arrived ready to play. Eighteen flights headed out across the fairways in a shotgun start. The mix of returning players and new faces created the perfect balance of friendly rivalry and shared excitement.
Warm-up drinks, snacks, and a welcome speech set the tone just before noon. Players moved to their starting holes, chatting, laughing, and getting into match mode.
Ryder Cup Format Keeps the Pressure On
Just like the first volume, the tournament used the Ryder Cup format. Every match counted toward the team score. Every point shifted the momentum. The structure kept both sides engaged from the first tee until the final putt.
The competition felt tighter this time. Players from both teams stepped up with stronger pairings and more experience. Whether on the tee box or on the greens, both squads pushed each other through all 18 holes.
Special Action Holes Bring the Fun
Four special holes added extra excitement to the tournament:
• Hole 2 – Nearest to Pin (sponsored by Buds N Birdies)
Precision mattered, and players showed off their wedge and iron control.
• Hole 18 – Longest Drive (Sponsored by Newbarn Farms)
Power hit the spotlight on the finishing hole, giving players a chance to empty the tank.
• Hole 16 – Watering Hole (sponsored by Bangkok Bogeys)
Miss the green, grab the funnel. A crowd favorite that kept spirits high.
• Hole 10 – Spin the Wheel (sponsored by Bangkok Vodka)
Players took a spin and faced fun challenges before hitting their shot.
These action holes added the right mix of unpredictability and entertainment throughout the day.
Drinks on Wheels
Special entertainment rolled across the course in the form of drinking carts stocked with Bangkok Vodka and Red Bulls. The carts made their rounds from fairway to fairway, giving players extra energy, refreshing breaks, and plenty of laughter.
A Stunning Clubhouse Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the third floor of the newly renovated clubhouse at The Pomelo Golf Course. With the sun setting over the course, everyone gathered for awards, photos, and closing words.
Congratulations to the Champions
The Bangkok Bogeys secured their second consecutive win with a close 9.5 to 7.5 result. The score showed how tight and competitive this rematch became, with both teams fighting hard on every hole.
The Bogeys celebrated another strong performance. The Birdies promised to return sharper for the next edition.
